Steps

  1. Pour a half cup of water in the bottom of your slow cooker
  2. Place something on the bottom of the slow cooker so that the chicken will not be flat on the bottom surface. My slow cooker came with a metal grill that works well for me. Some sites have suggested that a tin foil ring can accomplish the same thing.
    1. Optional: some instructions include applying non-stick spray. I haven't had to.
  3. Place the chicken in the slow cooker
  4. Measure all seasoning into a small bowl and mix well.
    1. Sprinkle the mixed seasonings all over the top of the chicken, only
  5. 5 pound chicken fully cooks on Hi in 4 hours or on Lo for 6 hours.
    1. Always check the internal temp has reached 165°F / 74°C

  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
